Wi-Fi gateway

  • Ensure that you input the accurate SSID name and password for your Wi-Fi, taking care to use the correct upper and lower case letters.
  • Verify that your Wi-Fi network operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency.

No, the Nilan Wi-Fi gateway exclusively works with 2.4 GHz.

  • Verify that your Wi-Fi is connected and that neither the SSID name nor the password has been altered. 
  • Confirm that your Nilan unit still has Modbus address 30.
  • Examine the connection between the gateway and the Nilan unit.
  • During startup, the LED (a) should flash. This light-emitting diode signifies that it is connected to a Nilan unit and identifies the specific unit. Subsequently, the LED will remain steadily lit, indicating that it has successfully identified and made the Nilan unit accessible within your app. 

Confirm that the green LED (a) flashes when you power up the gateway:

  • If the LED does not flash during startup, inspect the connection between the gateway and the Nilan unit.
  • Check the Modbus-ID on the Nilan unit; it should be set to 30.

If the green LED (a) is flashing:

  • This indicates a successful connection to the unit.
  • Press and hold the Mode button for 10 seconds (refer to the manual - page 4).
  • Status: The LED will illuminate red continuously (see the manual - page 4).
  • The gateway is now in 'connect mode' and has linked to the Wi-Fi network (see the manual - page 12).
  • Connect to network 1141_Gateway with the password: 1141_Gateway.
  • Launch the app and select 'configure Wi-Fi gateway.'
  • The gateway number will be displayed at the top in the app.
  • Enter your Wi-Fi network name under SSID, ensuring correct upper and lower case.
  • Input your network password under 'Password,' maintaining accurate upper and lower case.
  • Your gateway will restart, and the LED should continuously shine green (indicating a successful connection to your local Wi-Fi network).
  • Open the app, where the gateway number will now be displayed (tap the gateway number).
  • Follow the prompts to create a user profile, entering your desired email address.
  • If the email address has been used before, it will indicate 'Existing user,' and you should enter the associated password.
  • For new users, an email containing your password will be sent, granting you access to your gateway.

LAN gateway

  • The unit is unable to locate a Nilan unit (refer to the manual - page 4).
  • Ensure the Modbus address is set to 30.
  • Inspect the connection between the unit and the gateway.
  • During startup (as described in the manual - page 4), verify that the LED (a) is flashing. This LED indicates a connection to a Nilan unit and specifies which unit it is linked to. Subsequently, the LED will remain lit continuously, signaling that a Nilan unit is now accessible within your app.
  • Double-check the LAN connection.

Nilan App

Begin by activating your Nilan unit. After ensuring that the unit is operational, proceed to connect your gateway to a power source.

Only one user is supported, but you can install the user account on multiple phones.

No, you can only pair one gateway with each unit.
